What is Certified Translation?

Certified translation involves translating a document from one language to another while providing a formal certification attesting to the accuracy and completeness of the translation.

This certification typically includes the translator's signature, contact information, and a statement affirming that the translation is accurate to the best of their knowledge and ability.

Our Certified Translation Process

Document Evaluation

• Task: Review the document
• Purpose: Determine the scope of the translation and specific requirements
• Output: Detailed understanding of the document's needs

Assignment to Certified Translators

• Task: Assign the document to a certified translator
• Purpose: Ensure the translator is proficient in both the source and target languages
• Output: Document is assigned to a qualified translator

Translation

• Task: Translate the document
• Purpose: Ensure meticulous attention to detail
• Output: Initial translation

Proofreading

• Task: Proofread the translated document
• Purpose: Ensure accuracy and completeness
• Output: Proofread translation

Certification

• Task: Provide formal certification
• Purpose: Affirm the accuracy of the translation
• Output: Certified translation with translator's signature and contact information
• Note: For specific requirements, such as IRCC documents, request certification under the Society of Translators and Interpreters of BC (STIBC)

Delivery

• Task: Securely deliver the certified translation
• Purpose: Ensure the client receives the document in the desired format and within the specified timeframe
• Output: Certified translation delivered to the client

Notarized Translation:

For certain languages where certified translators may not be readily available, we engage experienced translators to translate the document and then proceed to have the translated document notarized. However, it's important to verify with the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) or your immigration consultant whether this alternative method would be acceptable.
