Affidavit Translation — Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a certified or a notarized affidavit translation?

Start with certified: every affidavit translation we deliver includes the translator's signed certificate of accuracy at no extra charge, which is what Notaries & Lawyers will accept as standard. A notarized translation is the same document with the declaration sworn before a notary — needed only for certain court and legal uses — and adds $60 per document.

What does affidavit translation cost?

Certified affidavit translation starts at $55 per page for common languages. The full published range is $40–85 CAD/page depending on volume and language — the per-page rate falls on longer documents, and rare languages sit at the top of the range. You approve a fixed quote before any work starts. A mailed hard copy is $35 per order; the secure PDF is included at no extra cost.

How long does affidavit translation take?

Most affidavit translations are delivered within 2–3 business days. If you are up against a filing date, 24 hours rush adds 20% and same business day delivery adds 50%, subject to availability. If the translation is for Courts & Legal Tribunals, tell us your deadline when you request the quote so we can confirm it is achievable before you pay.

Will IRCC accept my translated affidavit?

Yes — our certification meets IRCC's requirement for a complete translation with the translator's signed statement of accuracy attached. The same package is accepted by Courts & Legal Tribunals, Immigration Authorities and Notaries & Lawyers.

What do you need from me to translate an affidavit?

A clear scan or phone photo of your affidavit is enough to start — every word, stamp and seal must be legible, and we need both sides if anything is printed on the back. Tell us the language pair and your deadline, and we confirm the price and turnaround before any work begins. You never need to mail the original.
