Adoption Papers Translation — Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need certified or notarized translations of my adoption papers?
A certified translation is almost always what you need: the translator signs a certificate of accuracy stating their name and credentials, and that is the standard IRCC (Citizenship/Sponsorship) and most Canadian institutions ask for. Notarization is a separate step — a notary public witnesses the translator's declaration — and is only required when a court, a lawyer or a specific institution names it. When it is, we arrange it for $60 per document.
What does adoption papers translation cost?
From $55 per page for a common language; the published range is $40–85 CAD/page depending on volume and language. Volume tiers bring the per-page rate down as the page count grows, and you get the exact figure in writing before we begin. A mailed hard copy is $35 per order; the secure PDF is included at no extra cost.
How long does adoption papers translation take?
2–3 business days for standard service, 24 hours for rush at +20%, and same business day at +50% where the language allows. Delivery is by email, so there is no shipping time on top. If the translation is for Family Courts, tell us your deadline when you request the quote so we can confirm it is achievable before you pay.
Will IRCC accept my translated adoption papers?
Yes. IRCC requires a complete translation of the document — not a summary — accompanied by the translator's signed certificate of accuracy, and every order includes exactly that as standard. The same package is accepted by Family Courts, Provincial Adoption Agencies and IRCC (Citizenship/Sponsorship).
What do you need from me to translate my adoption papers?
Just a legible copy — a scan or a photo taken on your phone — plus the source language, the target language and any deadline you are working to. You receive a fixed quote by email, and nothing starts until you approve it.
